The Future Internet Graduate School (FIGS) is a new doctoral programme funded by the Academy of Finland for the period 1.1.2010-31.12.2013. It is a joint venture of Aalto University, University of Helsinki, and Tampere University of Technology. The Director of FIGS is Professor Martti Mäntylä from Aalto University.
The first Call of Applications for FIGS was opened 1.9.2009 and closed on 16.10.2009. See the menu choice Applications for more detail on the fully Web-based application procedure. The next call will open in Autumn 2010.
4.12.2009: The extended Board of FIGS has processed the applications submitted to the first call, and selected the first students of FIGS for the term starting on 1.1.2010. The selected students are listed on the Students page.
27.9.2009: The application procedure has been streamlined.
16.10.2009: The call was closed. 34 applications were received, one of which was later recalled.
1.11.2009: The assignment of application to reviewers was completed and the review process launched.
